The task was to take images from above, from a birds eye view. I found this task quite easy, however, there was an aspect witch made it quite challenging. The challenging part was i took photographs that look very similar to my other ones, this was because there was not much variety of places to go from above and this made my pictures look very simplistic and rushed and also boring because there are multiple images that look very similar. If i was to do this task again i would think more about taking pictures that look different from each other, so they have more variety and interesting to look at. Overall, i am mostly disappointed with my photographs, however i think i did a good job of taking them all from above.
Over the shoulder...
These are my over the shoulder images. I found this task challenging as i found it hard to position the persons head to still allow the background to be in the shot. If i was to re-take these pictures i would make the persons head in focus and leave the background out of focus to make the persons head the subject of the photos and stand out more for the theme of 'over the shoulder'. Overall, i am not to pleased with these photos i have taken as they look to busy and rushed.
Walk on by...
Our task was to take pictures of people walking as a part of street photography. I found this task challenging as i really rushed my images, therefor they didn't turn out how i initially wanted. If i was to re-take my images i would take more time on each of the photos and do a variety of different angles and distances such as close-up and far away. Overall, i am very disappointed in my photographs and next time i would focus more about the quality of the photos.
About Jill freedman...
Jill Freedman is a professional photographer, she is best known for her street and documentary photography. The reason why she wanted to be a photographer in the first place was because when she was around 7 years old she found some pictures of the war time in her attic what her parents used to keep from her and she found them very upsetting but very interesting at the same time and she got inspired by them and one day she woke up and desperately wanted a camera, so she went out and brought one, went outside and took pictures of things she found interesting and she was really pleased with her images. When Jill was a little bit older she made herself her own darkroom and she really enjoyed using it and she found it very satisfying to watch the photograph develop on its own when she put it in the 3 liquids. Here are some of her pictures...
Image analysis:
This is the picture i have chosen to analyse, this photograph is by the Photographer 'Joel Meyerowitz'.
In this image there's 2 men and a dog. The two men kind of look like opposites because the man on the left is smiling, wearing casual clothes, looking towards the camera, holding a dog, whilst the other man on the right next to the man holding the dog is wearing very smart clothes, looking really stern, looking away from the camera towards the man on the left.
This image is in colour and the difference it makes is that it makes the photo look more happy and bright and a bit more realistic.
The picture is quite calm but at the same time its quite full of action because of the man on the rights facial expression, i also think that it is quite organised because the man on the left is looking right into the camera smiling.
Street photography trip...
These are my images I took whilst we were on a trip in central London. The aim of this trip was to take pictures of the streets for our street photography project. Overall, I think my pictures turned out successfully, as I used a range of techniques and captured the atmosphere of the streets of London within my photographs. If I was to do this task again I would be more confident whilst I take my photos and I would take my time so they look less rushed and more clear.
